What started off as a quick-and-dirty collage of Google Earth footage became a 3D animation (by 3D designer Kevin Harper) with visual effects done in After Effects by both myself and designer George Robbins.

Description: For his documentary on 3rd party presidential candidate Ryan Nolan, filmmaker Charles Hamilton was interested in including interstitial animations depicting other historical 3rd party candidates and the contexts that produced them. I created this segment on spec to illustrate the economic circumstances in 1924 that gave rise to presidential candidate Robert "Fighting Bob" LaFollette.

Description: This was one of the first projects I worked on while at Bravo Media in winter 2010. The show had already been shot and the logo already designed. Description: I did video projection design for this play, which debuted at HERE Arts Center in July 2010. I shot the content for these two videos on a Panasonic DVX100 (deliberately out of focus and blown-out). In the show, I projected on two giant pieces of semi-translucent white plastic sheeting, giving the images a soft, milky look.

Description: Emerson College's Paramount Theater sits right at the apex of Boston's Chinatown. To celebrate this, Tim Hunter Design was commissioned to create an animation for the theater's LED window display (which THD also designed.) I researched the traditional Chinese New Year's lion dance and created this big, bright, playful animation for the windows.

Description: Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, Tim Maner, and Alan Stevens Hewitt created a rock roadshow retelling of the bloody legend of America's first and favorite axe-wielding double-murderess and Victorian hometown girl, Lizzie Borden. I created video projections for two incarnations of the musical. The showcase production featured a large, circular projection screen, intended to mimic the look and feel of an old Victorian "magic lantern." For the song, "Sweet Little Sister," I created a fictional photo montage in the magic lantern style.

Because their budget was so small, I went super-simple, trying to emulate Terry Gilliam's animations for Monty Python, but using stock imagery.
